ABOUT PALMETTO BAR PREP
Palmetto Bar Prep provides one-on-one bar exam tutoring and strategic consulting for law graduates preparing for the Uniform Bar Exam.
Founded by Tom Polster, a practicing South Carolina attorney and Magna Cum Laude graduate of Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he served on the Campbell Law Review. The program is built on both academic excellence and real-world legal experience.
Tom scored above a 330 on the UBE on his first attempt - well above the threshold for admission in every UBE jurisdiction. He understands what it takes to perform at a high level, not just in theory, but in practice.
Through individualized support, proven test-taking strategies, and a focus on how the exam is actually graded, Palmetto Bar Prep helps students approach the bar exam with clarity, confidence, and a structured plan for success.

SERVICES
Most bar candidates already have access to outlines, lectures, and endless practice questions. What separates passing exams from failing exams generally is not the degree of legal knowledge possessed by the student, nor is it how much effort was spent preparing for the bar exam. Rather, it is the strategic framework utilized by the student that converts this knowledge to points on the exam. How a student allocates time in preparation for the exam, how multiple-choice questions are approached, and how time is allocated on essays all contribute to how they score on the UBE.
Tom works with bar candidates on a flexible, individualized basis. Every student's needs are different, and sessions are tailored accordingly. Services include:
-
One-on-one tutoring across all UBE subjects
-
Essay skills development
-
MBE strategy and drilling
-
MPT coaching
-
Test-taking strategy and prep consulting
-
Retaker support, diagnosing shortfalls in previous attempts and restructuring preparation accordingly
RATES & AVAILABILITY
Rates and session structure are flexible and discussed during an initial consultation. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to bar prep, and the same should be true of how you engage a tutor. Whether you are looking for a single strategy session, ongoing weekly tutoring, or intensive preparation in the final weeks before your exam, options can be arranged to fit your timeline and goals.

FAQs
Are sessions available remotely? Yes, all sessions are conducted virtually. Students located anywhere in a UBE jurisdiction are welcome to reach out.
Do you work with first-time takers or retakers? Both. First-time takers benefit from building the right habits and strategies from the start. Retakers benefit from an honest diagnostic conversation and a fresh approach to preparation.
How far in advance of the exam should I start? The earlier the better, but it is never too late to make meaningful progress. Reach out regardless of where you are in your timeline and we can discuss what is realistic.
Does this create an attorney-client relationship? No. Tutoring and consulting services are strictly educational in nature. No attorney-client relationship is formed through any aspect of this engagement.

“Every candidate sitting for the bar knows the law. The ones who pass know how to take it. The bar does not reward effort; it rewards execution.”
